COURSE COST:
The cost of this Training and Assessment Package is; One hundred fifty US Dollars (USD 150).

COURSE SCOPE:
This Training and Assessment Package is based on the IMO Model Course 3.26 and is intended to provide the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, the ISPS Code, and section A-VI/6 of the STCW Code, as amended.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Those who successfully complete this Training and Assessment Package should be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge to undertake the duties assigned under the Ship Security Plan.
This knowledge shall include, but is not limited to:
  1. Knowledge of current security threats and patterns;
  2. Recognition and detection of weapons, dangerous substances and devices;
  3. Recognition, on a non-discriminatory basis, of characteristics and behavioural patterns of persons
    who are likely to threaten security;
  4. Techniques used to circumvent security measures;
  5. Crowd management and control techniques;
  6. Security related communications;
  7. Knowledge of emergency procedures and contingency plans;
  8. Operation of security equipment and systems;
  9. Testing, calibration and at-sea maintenance of security equipment and systems;
  10. Inspection, control, and monitoring techniques; and
  11. Methods of physical searches of persons, personal effects, baggage, cargo, and ship stores.
COURSE ENTRY STANDARDS:
It is assumed that those attending this course will be serving seafarers or other shipboard personnel and are likely to have designated security duties in connection with the Ship Security Plan.
COURSE ASSESSMENT:
This Training and Assessment Package is delivered online and assessed online by-way-of the AAELA Learning Management System.
The assessment process is by way of multi-choice quiz after each Module and a final multi-choice after the last Module.
COURSE CERTIFICATION:
On successful completion of this Training and Assessment Package, a Certificate of Completion may be printed from our Learning Management System.
A Certificate of Training (Proficiency) will be issued under the authority of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and mailed to the delegate within thirty (30) days of successfully completing training.
The Certificate of Training (Proficiency) is valid for a period of five (5) years from the date of issue.
COURSE DELIVERY:
The outcome of this course may be achieved by-way-of computer based online eLearning or by Distance Learning.
COURSE DELIVERY TIME:
The outcome of this Training and Assessment Package may be achieved via eLearning by-way-of the AAELA Learning Management System.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
SSeafarers or other shipboard personnel, such as armed guards, likely to have designated security duties in connection with the Ship Security Plan.
